Day 1 : Arrival in Burgundy
Upon your arrival at Beaune train station, we will transfer you to your first hotel, in the heart of the vineyards of the Cote de Beaune - the Chardonnay Kingdom! Our Trip Manager will go over your trip package with you and answer any questions. This evening, you have a treat - a wine tasting dinner at the estate of Olivier Leflaive, where your delicious home-made meal will be paired with the ten different wines you will try! The sommelier will explain the appellations and terroirs to you - helping you learn as you enjoy. Welcome to Burgundy!

Day 2 : Nolay to Puligny via La Rochepot 16 km
From this pretty village, with its Medieval covered market hall and antique shops, you start one of the prettiest walks of the trip, though there are a couple of climbs to make you earn the spectacular views! Your route takes you past the beautifully restored 14th century Chateau de la Rochepot, perched on a cliffside above the village of the same name. You can visit the castle if you like, before stopping for some lunch in the village just below. Then continue your walk, returning into vineyards for the end of the day, through St. Aubin, Gamay, Blagny and finally back into Puligny-Montrachet. Stop just before returning to your hotel, to take a photo of the Grand Crus (such as the Batard-Montrachet and Le Montrachet) that you'll be walking by.

Day 3 : St Romain to Beaune 16 Km
This morning we transfer you up to the tiny village of St Romain le Haut. Before starting your walk proper, you may like to explore the ruins of the chateau from this village, perched high with a beautiful panorama, or the charming 12th century church, with its sculpted pulpit. When you start the walk, you'll get a great view onto the coopers (barrel-makers) of the village spread out below you - with the impressive yard of stacked oak being dried by the sun. Other panoramas await as you meander through the forest and then downwards towards the vineyards. Pass on beautiful small paths and dirt roads through the pretty village of Petit Auxey (an 11th century church this time!) and Auxey-Duresses, and perhaps stop for a tasting at a family-run winery, before continuing on through Volnay and Pommard and finally into Beaune itself. We'll help with recommendations for restaurants in Beaune for dinner - it will be hard to choose!

Day 4 : The Hautes Cotes de Beaune 12 km
A short transfer after breakfast this morning leaves you again up high. Your first view opportunity on today’s walk is a stunner: the “Pas St. Martin, was where, according to legend, Saint Martin took a leap off the cliffside as he was fleeing a dragon; you can see his "footprint" in the stony path, but you may not notice it as you soak in the view down into the valley below. Continue via a 14th century Benedictine rest home before arriving in the vineyards just above Beaune. This walk is a little shorter, to give you some time to enjoy Beaune itself; be sure to use our self-guided historic tour to explore the Medieval ramparts, the Collegial Church, and the shaded cobble-stoned streets and squares, with charming boutiques and cafes. Then meet at the end of the afternoon for your private tour of the incredible Hospices de Beaune, a spectacular hospital, built in the 15th century, and THE site to see in Beaune!

Day 5 : Departure - Bon Voyage!
