| Day 1: Arrival in Beaune optional 25 km
Upon your arrival in Beaune, we will meet at our headquarters where we'll provide you with your trip package and fit you on your bikes. Depending on your arrival time, you may have time already for a short warm-up ride, heading to the Grand Cru vineyards of Corton and Corton Charlemagne, and passing in front of the pretty chateaux of Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny... For sure you will have time to wander the medieval streets of Beaune, its ramparts, the Collegial church of Notre Dame with its 15th century tapestries, and have a drink in one of the many cafes on the main square!
Dinner tonight is included in a gourmet restaurant.
Day 2: Exploring the "Chardonnay Kingdom" 31 km
Today you'll cycle among the vineyards of Pommard, Meursault, Puligny Montrachet, and Chassagne Montrachet, villages who make the best white wines in the world! After you've had time to work up your thirst and an appetite, don't miss your rendez vous around 11.30 for a private cellar tour before your lunch and tasting: 8 different wines to taste, accompanied by a delicious regional meal... a nice way to learn a bit more about the wine! Dinner on your own tonight, but we will provide suggestions.
Day 3: Loop Ride: The Canal du Centre 44 km
Your ride today takes you along the tranquil and pretty Canal du Centre, and then into the Cote Chalonnaise, and return. This wine region lies just to the south of the Côte de Beaune. Away from the ambitious pricing of the Côte d'Or, some producers, in villages like Rully, are turning out respectable Chardonnay and tasty Pinot Noir for a fraction of the prices these wines might fetch further north. The relaxing terrain and small villages make for great riding. Dinner tonight is included.
Day 4: Back to Beaune with optional rides 30 to 40 km
En route back to Beaune you can go via the Hautes Cotes de Beaune and visit the 17th century Castle of La Rochepot. If you've gone up that way, be sure to picnic at the top of Saint Romain 's cliffs... Other flatter, or shorter options through fields of canola and sunflowers are also available. You will be in Beaune in time for your private tour of the incredible Hospices de Beaune, a hospital for the poor, built in 1443 by the chancellor of the Duke of Burgundy, and one of the most beautiful buildings in the region. We'll give you some suggestions amongst the many restaurants in Beaune tonight for your dinner.
Day 5: Departure - Bon Voyage!
