| Day 1 : Arrival in Bordeaux
Upon your arrival at Bordeaux train station or airport, you will be met and transferred directly to your first hotel in the heart of the Medoc wine country. After settling in to your room, you will be given your trip package and can do a final check on your bike fitting. Take some time to wander the 6 hectare park of your hotel, or swim in the pool, before your gourmet dinner this evening - welcome to the Medoc!
Day 2 : The Chateau Route 40 km, with longer option
Your first ride, one of the prettiest, also takes you past some of the greatest names of wine in the world: Margaux, Ste Estephe, Moulis,... Tastings await if you wish! Visit the port villages such as St Julien and imagine the steam boats or "gabares", piled with wine barrels filling the harbour. Make your way along the pretty estuary of the Medoc to your charming bed and breakfast, where you will enjoy dinner tonight.
Day 3 : Vineyards Reflected in the River 53 km
The ride this morning starts amongst small villages filled with history, as well as vineyards. Pass by the impressive Castle of Castera, or the Vertheuil Abbey, or the Fort of Medoc, before returning into prestigious vineyard names, as you ride by Pauillac, the capital of the Medoc, and the nearby chateaux of Latour and Lafite Rothschild. The day ends in a luxurious bed and breakfast, with another delicious dinner, served by your hosts.
Day 4 : Multiple Facets of the Lowlands 40 or 50 km
The riding today is easy, and fascinating, with a variety of landscape, dear to the hearts of the region's fishermen. You are riding along the longest estuary in all of Europe, through vineyards and pretty marshland. We recommend you take the time to stop in charming small port towns such as St. Christoly or La Marechale. The Richard lighhouse offers a wonderful panorama of the estuary. Do not miss the visit of Lesparres sites, including the "Noisettines du Medoc", an artisanal hazelnut candy factory. Your ride loops back to the same lodging for a second night.
Day 5 : Departure
After a final breakfast, we will transfer you to Bordeaux airport or train station for your further travels - Bon Voyage!
